Fun with geocaching
Jan. 30th, 2005 05:50 pmI had a great day yesterday in Brooker Creek Headwaters Nature Preserve. One turned out to be a multi-cache with an online clue I'd neglected to print out, but a phone call to the public library helped me take a shortcut and find the final cache without the intermediate step. Lots of bushwhacking, but no lasting damage (just a bunch of ugly cuts and scrapes that stung when I soaped up when I got home). Must remember to wear long pants when geocaching.
Today I went to USF (in shorts, of course) and didn't find two, found one, and placed a cache. Once it's been approved I'll link to it. I was SOOO CLOSE to one, but once I got to the correct altitude, I chickened out (the terrain looked a bit dodgy and I didn't fancy that sort of tumble). Now that I know I'm on the right track, I'll go back sometime soon.
There are still a few caches left in Brooker Creek Preserve for me to find. In addition to long pants, I'm bringing a water bottle.
