Washing clothes, finally!

This house is already getting a little bit cleaner.

We got the washer and dryer delivered, but it took several days of phone calls to get the store to finish the installation (they were missing some parts). Eventually, the delivery manager opened a dryer crate in the warehouse, grabbed the parts he needed, came over in his own car, and finished the job.

Then our landlord and her (business) partner came over to duct the dryer through the drywall and under the house.

After they left, we discovered that nobody had ever turned on the taps that supply water to the washer.

So they came back this morning, boosting each other up into a tight space above the dryer to try to reach down and turn on the water, and eventually managed to solve the problem by pulling the machines out by eight inches so that the taller one could stick her head down and thereby reach the taps. It was comic and amazing and I'd never have been able to do that.
