So I'm thinking I might take a few classes in the fall if I can.  I'll be able to get in-state tuition by then, having been here for 12 months.

The Georgia State University fees (as of now, though they'll probably go up a bit) are $494 per semester plus $171 per credit hour.  Most classes are 3 credit hours.  So that means:
  • 1 course would cost $1007.
  • 2 courses would cost $1520.
I'd like to take Calc I and a beginning CS course (not sure how many classes I can skip by talking with a professor, but probably I could get into Intro to Programming I, which uses Java) in the fall.  Unfortunately, I still don't know what my employment situation will be in the fall.  Calc I is offered in the evening (5:30pm-7:10pm MW or 7:15pm-8:55pm TR), but all the evening CS classes are 4000-level.  So at Georgia State, I probably won't be able to take any of the intro CS theory courses.

Fortunately, Georgia Perimeter College (a public junior college) offers Calc I/II for $446 per semester (that's 4 credit hours plus fees).

And if I want to take their Principles of CS in fall and then maybe C++ or Java in spring, that would be $770 per semester (8 credit hours plus fees).

Sure, it probably wouldn't be the same as an intro class from a formal CS department, but it'd get the calculus back under my belt and get me started with programming classes.

I just hope there are evening classes available...
