Weeding

So as I've been cleaning up the place, I've decided that I'm going to get rid of most of my books -- sell 'em in bulk, probably. Some I haven't even looked at since I bought 'em.

Generally, I'm only keeping the books that I don't think I could get from the library the next time I want to read them. Porn, comics, and obscure or favorite stuff. (I won't dispose of Spider Robinson's books.) Most classic sci-fi is easy to borrow. Most stuff on religion I've either read or I'm not gonna. (I have a lot of books about liberal Christianity and liberal Judaism, and a few books by Karen Armstrong.)

It feels weird, but I've long ago reached the point where I can't just keep adding books as a way of honoring the book or the author, advertising my good taste, etc. And I've recently gotten to the point where those are no longer sufficient reasons to keep a book either.

And yet I'm a 'book people'. Weird.
