Jodi's sick
Apr. 12th, 2004 10:41 pmWe checked into a hotel last night because a chest cold (upper respiratory infection?) and worse-than-usual asthma left no room in Jodi's lungs for allergens. I had to take two days off from work again, because Jodi can't come home until the place is clean, and there is a LOT of cleaning to do.
Still, now that I've purchased about 60 skirt/slacks hangers and several large plastic bins, the bedroom is about as organized and clean as it's going to get (except the computer desk and the top of the dresser). And the living room is clean too, except for the laundry that I haven't put away yet.
Tomorrow I'll be working on the dining room, hallway, and (as I have time for it) my room. Whenever I'm tempted to take a break, I just remember that this is costing me $80 per night, and since I won't be done before checkout time tomorrow, we're looking at three nights. Ouch. It's about the best possible time to take a hit like that, though -- rent's paid, and there's nothing else that's due in the next week or so... definitely a miracle of timing.
(Miracles are all about the timing: if the Red Sea had parted the day before Moses got there, or the day after, it wouldn't have mattered much...)
