Safe and sound
Our power came back at about 5:40 this morning, to whoops of joy from the neighbors that woke Jodi up. The contents of our fridge and freezer will be thrown out as soon as it's reasonably safe to take it straight to the Dumpster.
The power flickered as thousands of A/C units all started up at once, but stayed on after a minute or so.
I enjoyed a hot bath with light to read by, and although my WLAN is a little screwy on this laptop, I seem to be able to hook it up directly to a cable and get 1.3 megabits.
So life's pretty good here, although it will be better when stores have refrigerated food that's safe to eat.
