Why is it always the Tampa area?

Unusual guys with unusual hair and unusual attitudes about clothing seem to like Tampa a lot.

First there was Peter Pan, who lives a few miles west of me.

Now there's NakeDan the Handyman, who wears nothing but a mullet and a smile. And for a suitable fee, he'll even notarize your papers.

What is it with Tampa Bay?

Actually, I saw the white hijab in a list of images recently posted to LJ and I was intrigued enough to click through and see what it was all about.

Is that a white apostrophe in your icon? Someone else's 'verse? Because I think that's just about the most poignant statement of Willowy fandom I've ever seen.
