Oh, we won a couple of times over through the years in small ways. I think the majority of lawmakers didn't take the bill very seriously at all. Now with it just outright out as a law, and Bush at the end of his term, admitting he made a mistake about WMD, fucking up all of his shit, and things generally looking like people actually realise he's a moron, why, it's a Christmas miracle!
Too late for my taste, actually. He's still gonna be in charge until January 20, 2009.
But if we can get someone sensible to control the legislature -- or, failing that, Democrats -- perhaps we can rein him in and start looking for reasons to impeach him. How about using the NSA to spy on Americans for starters?
I'd probably go after him for flying prisoners (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4501948.stm) on secret flights (http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,2144,1801128,00.html) to secret prisons (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051213/ts_nm/security_cia_europe_dc) in Europe so as to torture them.
Though the way things are, Bush will never get impeached unless he's been stealing money, because that's the only thing that really matters to the American people enough to get them motivated.
