We need a place for us and our cats for a few days

Our apartment building is being tented on the weekend after Easter, starting early that Friday morning and ending Sunday evening.

One option is to take the cats to a motel room and sit with them all weekend.

Another would be to pay a vet to lock them up in a cage in a room with barking dogs.

I'm not totally thrilled with either of these options.

Any other ideas?

EDIT: On the advice of friends, we're going to check out some local cat-boarding facilities that aren't just a cage in a room with dogs.

how about a rental trailer thingee where you go 'camping' and have the cats inside in an inverted kid play pen or something, or in the master bedroom?

can u take them to your mom's condo? or was it damaged in the hurricane or is it pet free?
