This morning I dropped off my car for repairs (State Farm finally got the other driver to confirm the details, so it's on her policy and I don't have to pay).

Before that, however, I rented a car that wasn't there -- they were all out of everything, apparently. They gave me a ride to work and said they'd bring a car to the office.

They did, but it's a Mitsubishi Lancer and it's not going to be comfortable to drive. I have to lean the seat back *and* crane my neck forward in order to see something other than the ceiling. I asked if I could pay the difference on some other car. Sure, they said, we'll call you as soon as we can get another car.

I dunno why a car rental place has no cars in the middle of the week (they said they were surprised by a rush last night), but this is annoying. At least I *can* drive it. I'm just hoping to be rid of it soon. If my car isn't fixed by the weekend, I'll have to drive this piece of shit all over the state -- assuming I've got enough miles. (I should have, but I want to be careful about that.)

What is it with some of these car companies these days? I am not quite 6' tall, so I don't have near the problem that you have, yet when I test drove a Subaru Outback a couple of months ago I found that headroom was a problem for me. My head was barely an inch below the ceiling of the car, and I am a relatively laid back driver who likes his seat leaned back quite a bit.
