(no subject)

This weekend I went to a traditional, if not legal, nude beach on Hutchinson Island. I walked for about half a mile to get well clear of traditional visitors, and asked the first person I saw after that whether there was a nude beach around. He said that there weren't any legal nude beaches in the area, but there was one in Haulover. I knew this, but I must have looked disappointed, because he then assured me that people did get nude here often, himself included. You just have to keep your eyes open for park rangers ("most of them are okay, but there's one who's a real asshole") and non-nude people, since it's polite to cover up to avoid offending people.

So for about half an hour, I sunbathed in the nude. It was annoying to have to constantly scan the horizon (pedestrians, boats and even one helicopter passed the area), and I hadn't brought enough sunblock either. After that, I packed up and went back to Jodi's family's house.

I stopped first at Panera, where I enjoyed my lunch up until I was horrified to hear the theme from Schindler's List on the overhead speakers. This was not the sort of thing I wanted to think about at the table, even though it hadn't occurred to me (as Jodi's dad pointed out) that the bread was fresh out of the oven. Thanks, Mick.

More later -- time for me to be offline so Jodi can call.

"My eyes! The goggles do nothing!"

Sorry, sorry. :)

Yes, yes, but the quote was tangential enough without throwing in German words too.

Would you have preferred the scintilating sounds of Slayer's "Angel Of Death"?
