I suppose I'd like to have a healthy romantic relationship like you do, but I certainly would never use the word "envy", because I'm quite fine as I am right now. In fact, I can't think of very much in the world I'm envious of at all.

Does that make sense? "Envy" implies dissatisfaction, does it not? I'm not sure I could apply that word to myself.

Except for one thing - I'm envious as hell of guys in bands who get to jam all the time. Every time I see someone on stage, or in a bar, or even in a basement, rocking out - I think to myself "That should've been me".

I envy your lightning fast and razor sharp brain. God, I have never felt as stupid as when I talk to you. (But that's my problem, not yours, so don't start to wonder if that's a backhanded compliment -- it's not.)

I envy your comfort and acceptance of yourself in your own skin. At least that's what you project, and it's both wonderfully calming to be around (using the theory that if cozy people make you feel cozy, crazy people make you feel crazy) and frustrating. Without you doing anything at all, I can suddenly feel like my life, my sense of self, is lacking. (Again, not anything at all bad about you. Just about me.)
