Today's Woot is a hand-crank flashlight/radio/NOAA-radio for $13.  I'm planning to get these for every Florida household in my family.

the reviews from people who already have this brand leave something to be desired. i'd rather spend a bit more and get one that might work better. i bought a cheapish hand crank radio/flashlight a few years ago and it completely stopped working after only a couple of months (i have yet to open it up and see if i can fix it). and, remember, it's currently a tax holiday (until tuesday) for hurricane supplies, including radios under some price point.
