Good idea. I've just emailed the fire dept. captain in charge of inspections, and after they've had a chance to take a look, I'll send it to CVS as well. I don't want to tip them off and let them cover it up.
excellent. blocked fire escapes really make me angry. another strategy would be to just move the grate and open the door. let them be angry about the alarm going off.
