I finally got Guitar Hero II in the mail.

I finally got Guitar Hero II in the mail.

Sure, it's on easy mode. But nearly 400 notes in a row is cool anyway... and FUN!

Somehow I have missed out on this whole Guitar Hero craze :( What's the basic principle of the game? Can you play it if you know nothing about music, i.e. is it like Dance Dance Resolution with notes, or is it more complex than that?

It's like Dance Dance Revolution with notes. Instead of stepping on squares, you hold down a combination of five colored buttons on the guitar (corresponding roughly to higher and lower pitch), and you press the "strum bar" just as the colored circle(s) cross the bottom line, which determines whether or not you played the note(s) at the right time.

You don't have to know how to play a real guitar, or how to read sheet music, or what's the difference between major keys and minor keys.
