Is 'Seven Nation Army' the song that makes me keep thinking I'm about to hear a Kraftwerk song on commercial radio?

I wouldn't think so -- "Seven Nation Army" really rocks and is nearly the farthest thing away from electronic in my opinion. Pretty much bass, guitar, drums and vocals near as I can hear. Assuming someone other than the White Stripes hasn't done a very different version.

I think I heard a different version of this song last year on KCRW (a Santa Monica station that has an internet station and plays a lot of new and different music). I think it was quasi-electronica. I can't imagine the White Stripes version being Kraftwerk-like in sound, although possibly in the repetitive patterns of the music. So maybe this is a different version. Very interesting.

Hmm. Then I'm not sure what song it would be; I can't quite remember which Kraftwerk song I keep thinking I'm about to hear.

Hmm. No, I guess it isn't, then—although that opening riff would be on my short list of things to put in a mashup, if I ever learned how to do that with GarageBand. Right up there with Love Will Keep Us Together". Seriously, check out that opening riff; that deep smooth synth is the "I'm SOOOO drunk!!" of mashup fodder. I'd love to loop that and see what else I can throw in there.

The opening always makes me think I'm about to hear "Subway Song" by the Cure. The bassline is really close.

Now that I'm listening to "Subway Song" on YouTube, I think so too.
