I've got a RadioSHARK 2 and it's hooked up to Jodi's iMac. So far this seems to be working much better than connecting it to my laptop, which is the finest hardware $499 can buy.

Now I'm thinking I'd like to improve the reception, especially for 1690 AM. It has a headphone jack that also doubles as an external-antenna jack. Where can I get an external antenna that plugs into it?

At first thought, what if you just plug a set of headphones into it? A setup like that actually uses the headphone wires as an antenna, so you don't need a separate antenna.

At second thought, I'm not sure that will help you much with AM reception. You could consider something like this:

("Medium wave" is the more correct term for what we call the "AM" band.)
