I want to be a member of the sort of church that would recognize "Boom de Yada" as a hymn. i know of none that have, but suspect UUs would.

Some UUs, depending on the congregation :-) There are a few terribly conservative ones out there.

That would fly at a UU. The local one has a great sense of humor and a pretty mellow group.

I'd be willing to bet they would. And I would be equally likely to bet that a goodly number of UU congregants already know it.

Many pieces of the UU hymnal, especially the pieces appearing in the hymnal addendum (Singing the Journey), have a similar message and feel.

The last church I was a member of was UU, and at one point the choir director and I seriously discussed using Pat Benatar's All Fired Up in a service. The message is where you find it.
