sylvar | Smooth action

I'm watching xXx and decided to make a smoothie with a bit of rum. First off, my double-ended jigger only has 4cl and 2cl measurements, and from what I can tell, 1 fluid ounce is around 3cl. Which would have been funny if I had been watching Die Hard (well, actually not, since 4-2 is relatively prime to 3), but just kinda annoying... so I made a double batch with 2oz of Bacardi. (I prefer Bacardi because the family who owns it did a lot to rebuild Miami.)

But the thing fizzed up like crazy, almost filled the blender -- about 2 cups more volume than I expected. And foamy, too -- it didn't seem like it had that much ice in it. So I'm figuring the alcohol affected how the ice and/or powdered flavor stuff behaved.

So I guess after I record this in my other diary, I'll go back to my 'exercise': moving lots of stuff into boxes. I'm beginning to have enough room to figure out where I want to put things, which is encouraging.

i'm going to bypass the idea of a rum smoothie. somehow i'm having a hard time coping with the image. but i was going to ask you how your other diary is going? i take it from your enthusiasm that you're not having too much trouble adapting. i've got at least a few months before i rejoin. i am enjoying the freedom to eat fries without worry, but part of me is ready to resume the flight downwards.

Well, I'm madder than Ed Anger at a NOW convention that a half-box of pasta is actually more points than eight fried eggs. What bullshit. Haven't they ever heard of the revised food pyramid? Oh well -- I'm doing pretty well so far, I think. I'll know for sure when I dip below 330, which isn't too far away.
