Despite the cold that started in my sinuses and migrated into my chest, and the moderate fever that went with it, I did have some fun this weekend.

My brother Matt was originally going to come over Friday night, but when he realized that he'd be aiming directly into Orlando rush hour and arrive too exhausted to bother with conversation, we rescheduled for Saturday morning.

This gave us more time to clean up the house, which is tricky when three people are suddenly forming one household. For example, Amanda's pots and pans are extremely high quality, but have to be washed by hand. Jodi's pots and pans are of average or low quality, but came from her grandmother and are of sentimental value. My pots and pans are just ordinary cookware. Obviously we don't need three sets in a small kitchen. I'll probably get rid of my cookware, except for special pieces like the five-gallon pot and the electric cookers -- wok, rice steamer, etc.

Dad called to say we should go out to dinner on his dime, which we did at Kado without stretching Dad's price range a bit. (Ignore the price mentioned in that article. I can't imagine spending that much there.) Our tablemates were overheard talking about the need to make new friends, but didn't join into our conversations and didn't respond to our attempts to make new conversations with them. *shrug*

More later, perhaps. It's time for me to go home.
