TiVo Home Media Option

I finally got the Home Media Option working completely with my network. The trick was to tell my Belkin F5D6231-4 to allow traffic on ports 8080-8089/BOTH/BOTH. (Perhaps this will help someone else someday. If it helped you, please leave a comment!)

So now my MP3s and JPGs (the ones I've shared, anyway) are available on the TV when my computer is on. Makes party music a lot easier, that's for sure. And it means I can listen to audiobook MP3s while I clean. Nice!

Can you have, say, a slide show and random music playing, or just one at a time?

I wish

As far as I know, it's just music *or* a slideshow. They've been pretty conservative with its capabilities, probably to avoid crashes or poor performance in some far-out scenarios that would be misunderstood as "TiVo sucks".
