We lost a good one.
This morning I found out that my former officemate Rhonda Smith died in a crash on Saturday. She was gracious and funny and kind, and I'm told that she was a unifying force in the Ask-A-Librarian project because she could make entrenched academicians see her suggestions as quite reasonable.

hang in there. do something in her memory, make a contribution to an appropriate charity (or to the Ask-A-Librarian project?), I've found it helps me deal with the loss.

I recall, just a few days ago, talking in class about different online reference projects. A couple of my classmates spoke of how well the Ask-A-Librarian project worked, especially in comparison to other options.
Those thoughts now stick in my memory so much more.
