Hey geeky friends: How would one go about connecting a server to SMS in order to create an SMS application?

as in the other post, and I'd just script everything to mail out. if you're talking alerts, i use nagios (well, zenoss, but same thing) so no worries there, really (it does SMS natively). all that said, I don't actually use SMS.

No, I meant automatically responding to an incoming SMS request like "status machine-name" or "poke username".
