Three things
Feb. 22nd, 2007 10:08 pmThree things I accomplished today:
- Taught big boss how to use WordPress
- Learned how to write interactive fiction with Inform 7 (it's a lot easier than you'd think)
- Successfully navigated a dinner party hosted by someone I didn't know very well yet
- Vegetarian abenkwan (Ghanaian palm-nut soup)
- Talking with a coworker about "How I Met Your Mother" (there are finally some good episodes again)
- Jodi offered to watch a Star Trek movie with me soon, not because she likes Star Trek, just because she wants to watch things with me. (Though if she's going to make that sacrifice, I think we should at least wait until Amanda's back at home so she can enjoy it too.
MS Office 2003 spell-check suggests lingam as a replacement for thlIngan.
And how do I know this? Because I just posted this to a mailing list full of systems librarians:
> Years ago it used to be that the true geeks spoke Klingon.
> THAT was an accomplishment. Now we just have to know the HP canon, far
> easier even if we memorize all of the spells.
tlhIngan Hol vIlaDlaH je.
Ben
("The spelling check was stopped before it finished. Do you want to send
anyway?")
Sadly, it's a lie. I had to look it up. jIquvHa' jay'. I think that means "I have no honor", but it's quite possible that I just ordered a qagh omelet, hold the qagh.

Honestly, if we weren't already taken, I think I'd have found my new bestest friend. (Well, I'm available if I get a permission slip, but I don't know about her, and anyway she's got a wedding to plan, so she's a bit busy.)
